Chief Whitner said North County Fire inspected every business in Brisbane this year, reporting a total of 475 inspections (55 listed in the staff packet plus about 420 additional businesses). Council members asked whether permitted short-term rentals were included; Chief Whitner said short-term rentals are inspected when planning notifies fire during a permit application, but those inspections were not counted among the 52 residential inspections listed in the packet and are not tracked individually.
Council then approved Item H, a resolution describing the process for proposing future agenda items: the revised approach allows two council members (including the mayor or mayor pro tem) to request placement and clarifies that two members may also bring items to the city manager outside a council meeting; the city manager will report those requests at the next council meeting. The mayor noted Item I (public art implementation guidelines) was removed from tonight's agenda and will return at a future meeting.
Both consent actions passed by voice vote.
