The Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors voted to accept Western Engineering Company, Inc.'s low bid of $4,848,233.33 for the Tamarack Road HMA resurfacing project (FM-C078(213)–55-78).
The project covers HMA resurfacing with hot in-place recycling from Railroad Highway (G8L) east to Highway 59. After reviewing bids and staff recommendations, the board adopted Resolution No. 19-2026 to accept the bid and authorize County Engineer Andy Wicks to execute the construction contract and related documents.
The motion to accept the bid was made by Supervisor Susan Miller and seconded by Supervisor Jeff Jorgensen. The roll-call vote was unanimous in favor.
County documents say that upon receipt of the required contract bond and insurance certificates the county engineer will finalize and sign the contract. Construction scheduling and traffic-control plans will be developed and shared with affected jurisdictions before work begins.
