She said the total funding estimate includes $37,873 of unspent prior‑year funds and $91,665 allocated for FY2026–27. Staff noted the city has been participating in the CDBG program for more than 25 years and has installed 106 ADA curb ramps since 2017.
Council members asked how project sites are chosen; staff confirmed proximity to schools and residential path‑of‑travel are the primary criteria, and that other capital programs (annual concrete repairs, street resurfacing, specific facility projects) also address noncompliant ramps. Councilmember Howarth moved adoption of the resolution; the motion passed unanimously (5–0).
What happens next: staff will return with the executed LA County Community Development Authority funding agreement and implement the curb ramp project consistent with the city’s ADA transition plan and five‑year CIP.
