Separately, council read R2688, a resolution waiving formal bidding to purchase a mower for Parks & Recreation from Jerry Pate Turf and Irrigation. City staff said the purchase would be through Sourcewell, a cooperative purchasing program that competitively bids on items for participating government entities. Several council members requested additional details — including the parks director’s explanation of which park the mower will serve and pricing comparisons — and the council agreed to hold R2688 until the parks director could respond.
Votes recorded on the budget amendment and lien certification were in the affirmative; the mower purchase was deferred for more information.
