San Carlos names Captain Mike Tabak as chief of police services

Mayor Pernita Venkatesh introduced Captain Mike Tabak on March 23 as San Carlos's new chief of police services.
Tabak, who said he spent the early portion of his career in San Carlos as a deputy sheriff and later served on a psychiatric emergency response team, thanked city leadership and Sheriff Bender for the appointment and outlined priorities including compassionate service, consistency and transparency. "Trust is built on predictability and fairness," he said, and promised partnership with the council and community as he settles into the role.
The council welcomed Tabak and invited ongoing collaboration with the sheriff's office and city leadership.
