At the March 10 meeting, the treasurer delivered the financial report through February, saying the district's state aid is up about 4 percent year to date (including a report-card bonus) and that overall year-to-date expenses are up approximately 1 percent.
The treasurer noted payroll and benefits are up roughly 4.6 percent and that capital spending stands around $3.47 million with about $100,000 remaining before June 30. She cautioned that timing of an e-rate reimbursement will determine whether the credit reduces FY26 capital expense or posts in FY27.
The board then considered and accepted three donations: $500 from the Knights of Columbus to "Jackie Cares," $160 from Erin Wilson to the food-service/social-services account and $200 from an anonymous donor to the student lunch-debt fund. A board member asked how the district ensures donations intended to clear lunch debt are directed to families in need; staff confirmed donors may specify that their gift be used to wipe out identified debts or, if undesignated, go into the social-services account for students in need.
The treasurer's report and the donations motion were approved by roll call.
What happens next: the donations will be recorded and applied per donor instructions and policy; the treasurer will monitor e-rate timing and reflect any reimbursements in the appropriate fiscal year close.
