Superintendent asks board to approve personnel items; board adopts emergency policy for new misbranded/cultivated-protein foods law

The Three Rivers Local School District superintendent presented a consent list of personnel and operational items and asked the board to approve them as a packet.
Items included additional hours and compensation for high-school summer school (June 1–26), resignation letters (van driver Amber Gore; teacher Melanie Adams), revised hours (Ralph Schwartz to pick up extra route hours), approval of a volunteer nurse for an out-of-district trip, and recommended three administrative contracts. The superintendent also recommended reapproval of three van-driver OBI training payments and extension of a first-year contract to a second year for a new position.
On policies, the superintendent explained the board needs to adopt an emergency policy to comply with a new law concerning "misbranded foods and cultivated protein food products" that goes into effect March 20. "Our policy allows us to do an emergency approval of a policy, when it's being instituted by law," the superintendent said, noting a full first reading would miss the statutory deadline.
The board moved to approve items A through K as a block and later amended item L under athletics to change the dates on a girls' basketball summer retreat to June 15–17. The board approved the block and the amendment by roll call.
What happens next: personnel contract approvals and the emergency policy will be reflected in the district's minutes and posted policy schedule; the athletic trip dates were updated in the agenda item as amended.
