Mr. Snakeley tells Three Rivers board winter athletics participation remains strong as teams post records

"Participation numbers, though, are still pretty strong," Mr. Snakeley said, summarizing the district's overall athletics health.
The presentation listed team results and honors: the boys' basketball team finished 10–13 and tied for fourth in the league; boys bowling and swimming had district qualifiers; the wrestling team finished second in the CHL tournament with a 7–2 dual record; girls bowling completed a third straight league title; and multiple athletes earned CHL postseason honors. Individual achievements highlighted included Alex McDonald named player of the year and Zach Horstman named coach of the year. The report noted several athletes qualified for district and state competition.
Mr. Snakeley also outlined operational issues affecting program growth. He said limited gym time and facility availability constrained adding additional middle-school teams, and the district has explored partnerships and scheduling options with regional facilities and organizations to expand opportunities. He described a recent facilities incident in which dirt delivery damaged a water pump at the stadium; the water has been turned off and work is underway to repair it.
He told the board the athletics website provider contract with ESP Media will not be renewed and the district will transition to Presto Sports in the coming months. "It's a very similar look," he said, and staff will monitor the change as the site migrates.
Mr. Snakeley closed with community engagement notes, including a Buzz Bash fundraiser and a coaches' recognition scheduled for March 22 during the Division II girls state championship.
