U-46 board approves consent agenda, $36.75M in bills and several contracts and bids

The School District U-46 Board of Education voted on multiple procurement and contract items during its March 16 meeting.

The board approved the consent agenda by roll call (affirmative votes recorded for Miss Kerr; Miss Nolan; Miss Schwartz; Miss Thomas; President Owens). The board then approved the list of itemized bills totaling $36,750,492.21, which administration recommended for payment.

Administration also presented a proposal to award Game Time Care of Cunningham Recreation (GameTime/Cunningham Recreation) a contract for accessible playground replacements at Century Oaks, Hilltop and Illinois Park for $1,141,676.32 charged to the operations and maintenance fund; the motion passed on roll call.

Work-session procurement items included a recommended award to Northwest Contractors Inc. for South Elgin High School exterior door replacement ($1,883,576) and a recommended AVID regional training proposal not to exceed $90,000. The board also heard contract renewals and new contracts over $35,000: Edmentum ($712,500) and SchoolLinks ($669,469.75) for post-secondary success programming, and a contract with Grafton Integrated Health Network (DBA Grafton Integrated Health Network) for specialized student services training and materials ($197,470).

Administration recommended approval of a change order to MG Mechanical Contracting Inc. for South Elgin High School pool mechanical upgrades in the amount of $60,307, charged to operations and maintenance funds; the board moved and seconded the item and recorded the vote.

Next steps: Administration will execute related documents for awarded contracts and continue required procurement reporting and budget accounting.
