County extends UWSP RFP to April 9; Thomas Street and River Drive RFPs to be posted after appraisals

Chris Holman, county staff, told the committee the UW-Stevens Point/Wausau request-for-proposal process is on track but that the county provided additional utilities data to proposers, prompting an extension of the deadline to April 9 to allow applicants time to adapt.
Holman said staff will review proposals with scoring criteria set by the board and expects committee-level discussions in May and potential decisions in June. He also described the campus exit process, noting many tenants and program partners have been notified they can remain through the end of the academic term in May and UW will continue surplus work through the end of the year.
On county-owned properties, Holman reported Thomas Street was straightforward in title and appraisal work, while River Drive required extensive title research dating back to the late 1970s. Appraisals returned to staff last week and Erin Andrews is integrating appraisal data into RFP packaging; Holman said the county expects to post the RFPs and will allow an 8–12 week response window, include mandatory walkthroughs, and publish a consolidated Q&A addendum on the county website.
Holman said staff will notify interested parties who previously inquired and anticipates some overlap between the audiences for the university RFP and the property RFPs. No committee votes were taken on the RFP schedules during the meeting.
