The council held a brief ceremonial oath and community comment period at its Nov. 19 meeting.
Christopher Kent took the oath of office as municipal court judge and thanked city staff, family and supporters. "I would like to thank everybody that has supported me to get to this position either, through city service, my family who's here to support me, friends who've supported me to get me to where I am today," Kent said after the oath.
During the second public forum, Lofolafusuessue, founder of Tautua Inc., introduced the nonprofit’s mission to serve Pasifika families in North Las Vegas and announced holiday partnerships to provide meals, toys and winter supplies; the speaker also said the nonprofit hopes to open a youth cultural program next summer and explore a seniors program. "Our nonprofit is deeply rooted in the values of faith and service, and we are dedicated to uplifting families and individuals in our community," the speaker said.
Steve Sands, president of Veterans in Politics, invited the council and residents to the group's eighth biannual Valentine's Day ball and gala, scheduled for Feb. 7, 2026, at the Suncoast Casino and said tickets are available via veteransinpolitics.org.
The council closed the public forum and adjourned for the evening.
