Several residents used the meeting’s second public forum to press councilmembers to take action on dangerous street conditions near neighborhood parks and schools.
Christian Burke (4046 Lisonbee Ray Street) said his home is within walking distance of Craig Ranch and described repeated incidents in which vehicles have driven through block walls into backyards near Goldcrest Park. “Last week, for the second time in two years, there was a car that went through my block wall into my backyard,” Burke said, and he listed multiple crashes and two recent fatalities along Revere Street in 2025. He asked councilmember Isaac and staff to analyze Revere Street and consider measures such as “a speed bump, a digital crosswalk” or enforcement changes.
Terrence (Terry) Maria (6103 Theatrical Road) said Coleman Avenue has become a racetrack with sustained speeding and burnouts; he reported repeated calls to 311 that he said did not produce a timely response and said parking signs had been removed on parts of the street. He urged the council to inspect the area and follow up with enforcement and traffic engineering.
Mayor and staff responded by inviting residents to remain after the meeting to meet with councilmembers and staff for follow-up; council members also asked for staff coordination to review the complaints and potential engineering or enforcement options.
Next steps: Staff said they would follow up with the affected councilmembers and residents after adjournment to arrange site visits and to assess enforcement and engineering options.
