North Las Vegas honors local entrepreneurs with Small Business Connector awards

The North Las Vegas City Council used part of its Dec. 17 meeting to celebrate local entrepreneurs through the Small Business Connector program. McKenna Enriquez of the city’s economic development department said the connector — a partnership with Nevada SBDC at UNLV and the city’s business hub — helps entrepreneurs move from an idea to a launched business and provides on-the-spot assistance.
Award winners called forward or recognized included Dulceria La Colmina (Outstanding Growth Award, 3853 East Craig Road, Suite 9), Kijutsu Do (customer service award; listed at 3100 East Lake Mead Boulevard), Family Nutrition (Community Impact Award, 2560 Las Vegas Boulevard, Suite 2), and Photo Motion Boots LLC (Up-and-Coming Business). An additional creative business awardee, Lorena’s Party Rentals, was recognized in absentia.
Mayor and council members thanked the economic development team, Nevada SBDC representatives and volunteers for supporting entrepreneurs. McKenna Enriquez called the partnership “one of a kind in the Valley” for on-site business assistance, and the council presented plaques and public recognition to the winners.
The recognition highlights an ongoing city effort to support small-business creation and retention through coordinated city, university and SBDC resources.
