Daggett County Municipal Building Authority hears water plant permit delay, approves financial reports

The Daggett County Municipal Building Authority approved minutes from its May 20 and May 27 meetings, accepted a cash settlement and accounts-receivable report dated May 28, 2025, and authorized a $5,615 disbursement for bond work on the water treatment plant at its June 3 meeting.
The meeting’s most substantive update came from Trevor, a staff member, who reported that contractors “are supposed to excavate or supposed to have been here yesterday” but had not begun work. He said the contractors had been on site to lay out the project and that he planned to attend a Wednesday permitting meeting to check whether the authority’s building-permit application has received a response: “It will have been 30 days with no response as of the meeting Wednesday, so we’ll see where we stand on that.” The equipment for the treatment plant arrived last week, and Trevor said the final invoice from Westech is part of ARPA funding for that equipment.
The Chair said the clinic project will appear on the June 5 agenda with a requested change in scope to allow purchase of an X-ray machine and other equipment. A committee member said Representative Kennedy plans to visit on June 18 and staff may hold a town-hall meeting in Dutch John later that day.
During the financial review, committee members and staff discussed several funding items: a DWQ loan tied to the DJ plant, a $46,000 water-quality grant, and a reimbursement request linked to MBA tank construction for $288,000, though some dates and status items were not yet confirmed. The committee moved, seconded and approved a motion to accept the cash settlement and accounts-receivable report and separately approved the $5,615 disbursement to Bill Prager for bond work on the water-treatment project.
No members of the public spoke during the public-comment invitation. The Chair adjourned the meeting by acclamation at 9:31 a.m.
