Autauga County Commission approves hires, millage rates and project actions

At its Feb. 3 meeting the Autauga County Commission approved a series of routine administrative and personnel actions, adopted FY2025 millage rates without change and approved a construction change order for the county jail/courthouse project.

Personnel actions approved included a pay-step adjustment for Dhija Williams (Correction Officer), hires of Adam Bramel, Naomi Rojas and Tierra Scott as full-time correctional officers, a promotion of Angie Calloway to Assistant Chief Clerk, acceptance of Amanda Johnson’s retirement (effective Feb. 28, 2026) and authorization to advertise to fill a Reappraisal Clerk position. The commission also approved the resignation of Brittney Petty and authorized hiring her replacement; Natalie Kuczmarski was later approved as License Clerk effective Feb. 9, 2026. Kristina Gardner was approved as Accounts Payable/Facility Maintenance Coordinator effective Feb. 17, 2026 to replace Regina Mims, who retired. The commission adopted a resolution honoring Robert Bishop on his retirement from the Road Department.

On fiscal and project matters the commission approved FY2025 millage rates for collection — General 5.0 mills; Road & Bridge 2.5 mills; Countywide School 4.0 mills; School District (Act 2005-25, Amendment 778) 3.0 mills; Special Fire Protection 3.0 mills — for a total of 20.5 mills, with no change from the prior year. The commission approved the surplus and sale of several heavy vehicles and equipment at an upcoming J M Woods auction and authorized change order #6 with Matthes Parker (RFP #14) for Phase II of the Jail/Courthouse project.

All motions recorded in the minutes carried by unanimous vote. The commission entered executive session from 5:12 p.m. to 5:54 p.m.; no executive-session details were included in the minutes. The meeting adjourned at 5:57 p.m. and the commission will reconvene Feb. 17, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.
