WICKLIFFE, Ohio ' The Wickliffe City Council adopted Resolution 2026-04 on March 23 to recognize Dispatcher Donald Stein on his retirement after more than 31 years with the Wickliffe Police Department.
The resolution, read into the record by the law director, recounts Stein's start dates with the department, his role as a communications training officer, numerous commendations and service to community events, and a 2018 incident in which he kept a trapped, panicked resident calm by phone during a trailer fire and assisted officers in guiding them to a successful rescue.
During the meeting the council moved to suspend rules and place the resolution on final reading; the council then adopted Resolution 2026-04 and members offered congratulations. The honoree addressed the council and said he appreciated the opportunity to serve and meet many community members during his tenure.
The council declared the emergency citation and commended Stein for his service and dedication to the community.
