A resident who identified herself as Victoria Rosencrantz asked whether work at city hall had proper permits, saying she had been told no permits were on file on March 16 yet permits later appeared on March 18. Tracy Lesher and other residents pressed council about apparent understaffing in the code office, asking why only two staff remained five months after departures and who is supervising code enforcement. Lesher said that the lack of follow‑through on landlord registration and occupancy notification rules was harming neighbors and asked for clearer enforcement. Council encouraged residents to submit formal complaints with addresses so staff could investigate and suggested the police department could help locate records where relevant.
Other public comments addressed gambling‑machine fee enforcement, the skate‑park grant effort and demolition scheduling for private property; staff committed to pull existing lists (machine inventories, inspection lists) and provide follow‑up information to the council.
No formal action was taken during the meeting; council asked staff to research the specific permit and enforcement concerns and to report back.
