"This new AMP roof is exciting for us because our existing structure was more of a shade structure and not a roof structure for concerts," she said, and noted staff hopes for a grand opening soon, subject to construction timing.
Derek also described Placer AI visitation data supporting the park's role as a regional destination: "The first report we received did show that Craig Ranch alone in 2024 had 1,100,000 users, and with 2025 with the expanded 6 multi-use fields, we were at 2,100,000 visitors at Craig Ranch Regional Park." She said the city is planning a 20‑acre expansion and has selected a designer for circulation and crossing improvements related to increased event traffic.
Board members raised pedestrian-safety questions near Revere and Craig; Derek said staff will consult the city's traffic division on potential crossing improvements and will return renderings and updates as design work progresses.
