At the Nov. 11 meeting, finance director Neal Deane reviewed the division’s FY2026 financial outlook, reporting student membership of 8,212 through October and a budgeted average daily membership (ADM) shortfall of about 125 students. He said the resulting estimated revenue deficit is roughly $913,000.
Deane walked the board through the division’s revenue mix—about 66% state allocations and 29% local government contributions—and year-to-date spending patterns (approximately 28% of the School Operating Fund budget expended to date). He said trend graphs showed current-year spending closely aligned with the previous fiscal year.
The presentation identified an enrollment shortfall as the major near-term revenue risk; staff described the figures as preliminary and subject to update as more data and state validations arrive. The board did not take an immediate financial action but acknowledged the projections and thanked staff for the analysis.
Next steps: staff will continue to monitor enrollment and revenue updates and will report recommended adjustments or budget amendments as needed.
