Auditor Sandra L. Morton presented multiple budget requests at the Feb. 23 meeting that the Dubois County Council approved unanimously.
Appropriations approved included $5,201 from the General Fund for a Circuit Court CASA match; $5,201 from the CASA Fund (personal services: $4,831.40 for a part‑time case manager and $369.60 for FICA/benefits); $27,870 from the LIT-CR Fund to repair Community Corrections shower flooring; $400,000 from the Cum Cap Fund for highway equipment/dump trucks; $132,210 from the Highway Fund Capital Outlay for dump trucks; and $167,790 from the Highway Restricted Fund for additional highway equipment. Each request was moved, seconded, and carried unanimously.
The council also approved an amended salary ordinance for a Pretrial Services Supplemental Grant case manager at $2,278.09 biweekly for a 35-hour workweek; comp time will be accrued and the grant period began in January 2026. Auditor Morton presented the 2025 County Annual Financial Report and a list of 2025 encumbrances carried into the 2026 budget.
These approvals allow immediate procurement planning for highway equipment and repair work; specific vendor selections and capital-outlay schedules were not specified at the meeting.
