A staff member explained the device is an outdoor warning siren designed to alert people outdoors to severe weather; staff reminded residents that indoor notification requires phone apps or other alerts. "It'll be one of the new styles that operates off of solar. It silently tests itself," the staff member said.
Council moved and seconded to approve the interlocal cooperation agreement and to authorize the city manager to execute the necessary documents. The motion passed on a voice vote with no opposition recorded.
