The Decatur City Council moved on three consecutive hotel-related actions after an executive session on economic development.
Council voted to approve termination of the performance agreement between the Decatur Economic Development Corporation and GateHouse Decatur Ownership LLC, a motion moved by a council member and carried by voice vote. Following that vote, council approved an assignment of the Chapter 380 hotel development agreement from GateHouse Decatur Ownership LLC to South Plano Enterprise LLC and then approved a related release of the right of reverter for the hotel at the Decatur Conference Center.
City staff opened those items by explaining the matters had been discussed in executive session under Texas Government Code §551.087, noting the matters involve commercial or financial information provided by a business prospect. Each motion was moved, seconded and adopted by voice vote; no roll-call tallies were recorded in the public transcript.
Mayor Mike McQuiston declared each item passed. Council did not provide further public details about the contents of the terminated performance agreement or the assignment beyond the formal motions and votes recorded on the public agenda.
