Parks and Recreation announces Friday parade, tree lighting, boat parade and breakfast with Santa

Debbie Huffman, Parks and Recreation manager, told the council the holiday parade will begin this Friday at 6:00 p.m. along Padre Boulevard, traveling the route "from Mars to Acapulco," and that the event will include 57 entries: 14 specialty units, 30 floats, seven dignitaries and six city departments. She asked attendees to watch from the east side of the medians for the best viewing.
Huffman also announced the tree lighting at 5:30 p.m. at the multimodal facility, a boat parade on Saturday at 6:00 p.m., and a "breakfast with Santa" event on Sunday from 9:00–11:00 a.m. She invited residents to attend the community events.
