The staff member also stated the direct price for administering the runoff is $25,135 and that the general election charges were previously encumbered at about $17,215 with a roughly $10,000 deposit paid.
To cover the added cost, the council approved a budget amendment of $16,000 from general excess reserves. The Chair moved to approve the contract and the amendment; after a second and a hand vote, the Chair declared the motion carried. Staff noted the final invoice for the general election is still pending and that the $16,000 amendment is intended to address the runway shortfall between encumbrances and the runoff charge.
Council members circulated and signed the contract and budget paperwork at the meeting before adjourning. The council did not record a named roll-call tally in the transcript; the Chair announced the motion carried by raised hands.
