Facilities committee reports kitchen, HVAC and ADA access work; board approves consent items with a few abstentions

The board received a facilities and finance update that covered several construction and closeout items and then approved multiple consent agenda blocks.
Facilities committee members heard that Midstreams Elementary School’s remaining kitchen installation is scheduled for the coming week and that a final walk-through and punch list will follow to close out the project. Osborneville Elementary’s kitchen addition documentation and warranties have been delivered by the contractor and are moving toward closeout. Early childhood HVAC projects have minor testing and balancing issues still being addressed by contractors; the architect said final documentation and closeout items are expected after testing is completed.
The committee also reviewed a change order for additional electrical work at Herbstville Elementary and said the architect would review the subcontractor’s additional charge. For one ground-mounted HVAC project the committee noted coordination with the township will be required regarding protective measures around exterior units. Brick Township High School’s ADA chairlift and other accessibility matters are under review; architects will visit the site to evaluate conditions.
Following committee updates, the board approved curriculum, operations and human resources consent items in blocks. Voting records show several members voted yes, with at least one abstention on item 7 and an abstention/conflict noted for item 30. The board president called each vote and board staff confirmed the recorded results.
No separate contract awards or new spending authorizations were detailed in the open session portion of the meeting; projects discussed were described as nearing completion, under inspection, or under further review by architects and township officials.
