Anna EDC manager Selena Tuttle reported Feb. 5 on outreach, upcoming events and local economic indicators, including a 14% year-over-year increase in sales tax for November.
Tuttle said staff attended chamber events, hosted a "Size Up" small-business resource meeting with library support and coordinated with HoltCat and Anna ISD on Career Connections Day. She also noted the Wyndham Garden hotel groundbreaking and related chamber events.
Tuttle reported recent engagement gains: five new newsletter subscribers, 15 on LinkedIn, five on Instagram and about 100 on Facebook. She said staff held four real-estate developer meetings, four business retention/expansion contacts and five predevelopment meetings in January. "So we're spreading the word about Anna," she said.
On revenue indicators, Tuttle said sales tax for November rose 14% over the prior year. She reminded board members of upcoming events: a congressional recognition for the new community library on Feb. 10 at 4:30 p.m. and the Greater Anna Chamber awards. The board received the report and moved on to closed session.
