Anna’s external auditors told the City Council on March 24 that the city received a clean audit opinion for fiscal year 2025 and that no audit findings or significant audit adjustments were identified.
Rachel Ormsby, audit partner with Forsyth Forbus Mazars LLP, and audit manager Tyler Hoffman presented the city’s annual comprehensive financial report (ACFR). Hoffman described the audit timeline and noted staff responsiveness during interim and final procedures; Ormsby highlighted that the ACFR and external audit were completed on time — the first on‑time completion since 2020 — and that the city is positioned to seek the Government Finance Officers Association certificate of achievement in financial reporting.
The auditors also noted a statutory change raising the single‑audit threshold to $1,000,000, which, combined with the city’s spending this fiscal year, meant the city did not meet the threshold for a separate compliance (single) audit of grants. Auditors explained that the city adopted two recent GASB accounting standards with no material impact and reiterated the requirement for ongoing compliance and annual reporting.
Council members thanked auditors and staff for the work that produced a timely report. The council later moved to accept the FY2025 audit report; staff clarified procedural points about whether the motion approved the report or forwarded it for further action.
The auditors and finance staff said they were available to answer follow‑up questions and recommended standard follow‑up and reporting processes.
