The Appomattox Economic Development Authority approved routine administrative business and made a personnel recommendation during its meeting. The board approved minutes from the Feb. 23 meeting and voted to pay two invoices listed on the agenda; the meeting record lists one invoice as a "Town of Aetnaq" quarterly invoice for $116.35 (as transcribed) and a second invoice entry whose amount and exact payee were unclear in the recording. Both motions passed by voice vote.
The board also discussed a vacancy on the EDA after a director, identified in the meeting as Mr. Abbott, resigned at the end of his term. An EDA director moved to recommend Faber Jamerson for appointment to a four‑year term ending Dec. 31, 2029. The motion was seconded and approved by voice vote; the recommendation will be forwarded to the Appomattox County Board of Supervisors for final appointment.
The chair announced a directors' meeting on 2026‑03‑30 at 5 p.m. (County Administration Building) and the next regular EDA meeting on 2026‑04‑27 at 5 p.m. He also referenced a planned closed session "Burncoat of Virginia 2.2 Dash 3711 A Dot b" to consult with legal counsel, as transcribed. The meeting adjourned following those announcements.
