Beardstown council signs off on routine minutes, equipment leases, carnival permit and parking request

At its April 8 meeting, the Beardstown City Council approved minutes and a consent agenda, authorized an excavator lease and a mower purchase for Public Works, granted a carnival permit for April 25–27 and approved various solicitation and parking requests.
The Beardstown City Council on April 8 approved the minutes from March 18 and passed the consent agenda under the Omnibus Vote Designation.
Council members also approved a 36-month lease for an E60 R2-Series Bobcat compact excavator from Bobcat of Springfield for Public Works at $1,700 per month (motion by Alderperson Mary Davis, seconded by Alderperson Keith Schramm; 6–0 roll call). The council approved the purchase of a TORO 72921 mower from Beard Implement Company for $7,385 (motion by Alderperson Keith Schramm, seconded by Alderperson Shawn Taylor; 6–0 roll call).
A request by the City Square Shriners to host Connors Family Amusements on the City Square April 25–27, 2025 was approved by voice vote. The council also approved a Corners–Cass County Hope & Recovery Center solicitation for May 23, 2025 and granted the Maggie Group use of the city parking lot at Second and Washington Streets for May 10, 2025.
All routine items recorded in the minutes were approved without recorded opposition. The meeting adjourned at 7:21 p.m.; minutes were submitted by City Clerk Brian Ruch.
