Bartlett High School building project on schedule; district aims to move during April break

Acting business manager reported that a recent walkthrough of B section showed finishing work advancing quickly and that OAC (owner/architect/contractor) meetings and commissioning discussions indicate no current delays. "We are scheduled to move over April break. We're hoping that the turnover will happen on April 15," the acting business manager said.
Officials described a planned room-by-room allocation: most students will be located in A and B sections to reduce outside movement, six classrooms will remain in modulars for science and world-language instruction, and eight modular rooms will be used for administration and adult education until permanent spaces are available.
The acting business manager said the district is coordinating weekly meetings with movers and logistics teams and has begun packing and labeling. The nurse’s office will be relocated from the modulars into temporary space near the other students for the next six to eight months until permanent offices are ready.
School leaders also noted readiness work for equipment in renovated sections: boilers located in the renovation area must be removed and will be declared surplus for auction or disposal later in the meeting under procurement rules. Officials said they are preparing surplus notices for COMMBUYS and a local paper advertisement.
Next steps include final commissioning, coordination with movers for an April turnover, and posting surplus notices for boiler disposition. The committee did not vote on the construction timetable; the update was informational.
