The Foley School Board took a series of routine and consequential actions during the meeting. Early in the agenda the board voted to add the Spring Play (Jenna Skopinski) and two donation items to the consent agenda and later approved a resolution to accept several gifts, including a $25,000 donation noted in the transcript and booster‑led contributions for athletics.
On facilities and financing the board approved a revised fiscal 2027 long‑term facility maintenance (LTFM) plan to fund remaining indoor air quality project costs and then passed a notice‑of‑intent resolution to pursue a small bond issuance. Business manager Ryan Fettters (S8) described remaining IAQ costs of approximately $425,000 and said the district plans to use a mix of bond proceeds (maximum par amount in the materials cited as $240,000), debt service funds and fund‑balance transfers to avoid a tax‑rate increase. The board approved the resolution to proceed and to publish required notices.
The board also approved the 2026–27 district calendar, voted to approve the SRO contract (the district pays half the city‑negotiated cost), and approved multiple policy updates recommended by MSBA, including a new 'Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence' policy to be reviewed annually. Motions on these items passed on voice or rollcall votes.
Procedural motions earlier in the meeting included the consent agenda additions and acceptance of gifts; many items were approved unanimously on voice votes recorded in the transcript. Where rollcall was recorded for the bond notice of intent, members answered 'yes' in sequence and the resolution passed.
Next steps: staff will publish notice of intent for the bond issuance, finalize municipal‑advisor arrangements and return any required final bond documents and procurement details to the board for approval before issuance.
