Nevada council approves parking and traffic ordinances and several routine permits

The Nevada City Council approved a package of ordinances, permits and resolutions largely by unanimous or routine votes on motions made from the dais.

On third and final reading the council adopted Ordinance 1076, which amends Chapter 69 to add language pertaining to no-parking zones, and Ordinance 1077, which adds stop-or-yield requirements at additional intersections. Council members asked staff about the timing of signage for the stop changes; staff said the notice will publish next Thursday and crews should install signs shortly thereafter.

The council approved a pay request to Horatio's Drive at Camelot Theater for the Fourth of July celebration (funded from tourism), a $5,000 CDBG façade payment to Eocene Environmental Group for historic façade work, a Class C retail alcohol license and a short-term tobacco sales permit for Casey's (store #5143/5143519), and resolutions setting hearings and accepting plats and easements, including work on trunk lining/manhole rehabilitation and a 27th Street reconstruction planning hearing.
