School board has asked about returning to county insurance plan; county staff say no vote yet

Staff said they provided the school board with financial logistics and options for what a return might look like but that no formal vote or movement has occurred. "We gave them the financial logistics... So at this time, there's nothing more to report than that," one committee member said. Ed Elam added that, because of timing, it would be difficult to accomplish this year and that the county commission would ultimately need to vote on any change.
The committee noted that rejoining a county plan involves multiple steps and votes and that staff would bring the matter to the commission if the school board pursues it further. No formal action was taken at the meeting.
