Students, staff and community celebrated new playgrounds, expanded after-school program and passage of Measure K

At the Dec. 11 meeting Pioneer and other schools highlighted student leadership, new play structures and a growing after-school program. District staff also reported Measure K passed with 59% of the vote and that the ELOP after-school program now serves more than 500 students.

Pioneer Elementary staff and student council representatives described student-led activities, food and clothing closets serving McKinney-Vento and foster families (staff reported five McKinney-Vento families and six foster-youth families currently receiving support), attendance outreach and family workshops.
