Students, staff and community celebrated new playgrounds, expanded after-school program and passage of Measure K

Several site administrators used the board meeting to highlight campus programs, student leadership and new facilities. Pioneer Elementary staff and student council representatives described student-led activities, food and clothing closets serving McKinney-Vento and foster families (staff reported five McKinney-Vento families and six foster-youth families currently receiving support), attendance outreach and family workshops.

Site staff praised cafeteria manager Ricky for increasing access to breakfast for late-arriving students and thanked volunteers and community-business partners for donating incentives and supplies. Pioneer staff also described a relocated pause room used to support students with behavioral needs and the school's student-of-the-month recognitions.

District administrators reported Measure K passed with 59% of the vote and said playground replacement and shade-structure repairs are underway; replacement parts for a stolen shade structure at Weaver Middle are expected to be installed by Dec. 19 and a fire-damaged warehouse is slated for demolition on Dec. 19. The district also said its expanded ELOP after-school program now serves more than 500 students and reported it had cleared its waiting list by opening new classes at Pioneer and Bridal.

Principals from Farmville and middle schools offered site-specific updates including trips (Nutcracker and UC Merced visits), enrollment snapshots and upcoming holiday programs. The board thanked staff and parents for their efforts and closed the meeting after scheduling the next special meeting and regular meeting dates.

The site reports combined celebration of recent accomplishments with reminders about upcoming events and continuing operational work like playground repairs and program enrollment management.
