Board member McKee recognizes 2025 summer-school staff at Cook County SD 130

Board member McKee recognized the district’s 2025 summer-school staff at the Cook County School District 130 regular meeting on July 15, 2025, calling out teachers, support staff and administrators for their work during the summer program. McKee invited the staff members named in the meeting to come forward to receive certificates and posed for a group photograph. The list read aloud included dozens of instructional and support staff, among them Yajaira Fausto, Christina Rank, Alejandra Cortez, Paula Mayen, Laura Esparza, Tiffany Schmidle and many others recognized by name.
The recognition emphasized the district’s goal of sustaining academic progress and social-emotional growth during the summer months. McKee said the staff’s efforts "created meaningful learning experiences that reflected the district's mission and values." The board did not record further action tied to the recognition; the event was ceremonial and intended to acknowledge staff contributions ahead of the new school year.
The board then recessed the recognition and moved on to the consent agenda and subsequent action items on the published agenda.
