Item 331 sought to vacate a 0.21‑acre portion of 34th Street (public right of way) in Southeastern San Diego. Staff described proposed pedestrian, curb, gutter and detectable‑warning improvements to connect Sunrise Street and East Street, and noted existing public utility easements will remain protected; staff recommended a CEQA exemption (Guidelines §15305) and the vacation. Councilmember Elo Rivera moved approval and the council adopted the resolution.
Both measures were recorded in the meeting minutes as passing by roll call vote; the council included directions for typical post‑approval steps (notify abutting owners, record instruments, and update property records).
