The superintendent also described a district‑run phishing drill intended to raise cybersecurity awareness. The drill used a simulated email and a phony website; about 37 staff members clicked the simulated malicious link or otherwise failed the test, and the district followed up with education, reporting and remediation steps. The IT staff member described the drill as a teachable moment and said the district could block genuine malicious senders and remediate credential exposures when necessary.
On audits, the superintendent said district financials had been provided to external auditors and the district expects the audit review to take roughly two months before a final report is issued.
The board did not take formal action during the report. The superintendent said a midyear evaluation item is forthcoming and that staff will continue voter outreach about the levy.
