Commissioner Heizer moved, and Commissioner Pelton seconded, a motion to fund the county’s 50% share of $1,547,461.11. The board approved the motion by roll call.
Board members said keeping the local airport functional and available for growth was a priority; at the same time, some commissioners noted the county's sizeable financial commitment.
What happens next: the county will coordinate with state and airport staff on contract execution and scheduling. Additional design, funding details and hangar plans will determine future expansions.
