The Crawford County Board of Supervisors met March 24, 2026, and approved a set of contracts, personnel actions and tax decisions affecting county operations and local property owners. Chair Craig Dozark presided over the meeting, which ran from 9:00 A.M. to 11:03 A.M.
The board approved an Agreement to Purchase maintenance gravel from Stratford Gravel, Inc., covering 70,000 tons (10% crushed limestone) from the Carlson Pit near Lake View for haul in 2027 at $9.31 per ton. The purchase was presented as part of routine secondary-road procurement to secure material for upcoming road maintenance.
The board moved on personnel business and approved the appointment of Tim Beery as Zoning Administrator/GIS Specialist. An initial motion to appoint Beery was followed by an amendment, approved unanimously, setting Beery’s salary at $800 per month and a starting date of March 27, 2026. The amendment was made by Supervisor Rosburg and seconded by Supervisor Muhlbauer.
Supervisors discussed the appointment of a Vice Chair for the Safety Committee but took no action during the meeting.
On taxation items, Supervisor Schultz moved, seconded by Supervisor Muhlbauer, to disallow one water impound tax exemption that the board said was filed after the deadline; the motion passed unanimously. The board also approved two tax abatements classified as new-home abatements: one for property at 1749 Hwy 59 in Denison (Byron Goslar & Rhonda Wessel Goslar), approved on a motion by Supervisor Rosburg seconded by Supervisor Schultz; and one for 3515 O Ave in Vail (Robert & Monica Lally), approved on a motion by Supervisor Schultz seconded by Supervisor Muhlbauer. Both abatements passed unanimously.
The board approved renewal of a Wisconsin Independent Networks (WIN) proposal for the City of Denison on a motion by Supervisor Muhlbauer, seconded by Supervisor Rosburg; that motion also passed unanimously.
