Denton County proclaims March as American Red Cross Month

The Denton County Commissioners Court on March 24 adopted a proclamation recognizing March as American Red Cross Month.
The court read a proclamation noting the Red Cross’s long history and local impact, including more than 600 Denton County volunteers, more than 30 local disaster relief operations in the prior year, 1,950 units of blood collected in 2025 and more than 225 services to local military members and their families. A representative of the American Red Cross thanked the court for the recognition and described the organization’s local work, saying, “the Red Cross is honored to be partners with our neighbors here in Denton County to make it safer, healthier, and more resilient.” (Red Cross representative)
Commissioner Mitchell moved to approve the proclamation; Commissioner Edmonson seconded. The court voted unanimously to adopt the proclamation.
The proclamation asks citizens to support Red Cross activities and recognizes the role of local volunteers in emergency response and preparedness.
