Parma City board moves meetings to 5 p.m., agrees to resume posting video

The vote on Resolution 2026-03-123 carried in roll call with board president Sebastian, Miss Kerpich and Dr. Early voting yes and Mister Reyes voting no.
The change followed extended discussion about member schedules and public participation. Mister Reyes argued an earlier start could make attendance harder for working residents and requested to delay the vote until after public comment; the board amended the agenda to hear public input before taking final action. "I would argue a 05:00 board meeting is difficult for many members of the public to attend," said community member Kevin Kussmaul during public comment.
Board members said the schedule shift responds to repeated late-ending meetings and aims to balance member availability and public access. "Every meeting we've had this year has gone until 8, or 09:00 or later," a board member said during debate, arguing an earlier start would better accommodate families and the time demands of long meetings.
The board also discussed whether to restore live streaming. Vice President Kerpich told the board she had heard from residents that audio-only recordings made it difficult to tell who was speaking and said she supported returning video: "I would be in support of having our meetings, like, having the video recording come back." Administrative staff told the board it would be straightforward to videotape and post meetings and that the district expects to begin posting videos starting March 26; special meetings would be recorded and posted as needed.
Missus Sebastian said the board would try to balance community convenience across varied schedules and noted no single time accommodates everyone. The board adopted the schedule change and the administrative plan for recorded video; the change takes effect according to the district's resolution schedule and administrative calendar.
