Commissioners reappoint county officials, approve Stryker maintenance contract and submit hospital nominees

At the Feb. 17 meeting the Bacon County Board of Commissioners moved through a series of routine personnel and board items.
The board reappointed Keith Morris as county attorney (motion by Commissioner Lee Hagans, seconded by Commissioner Rusty Sears, motion carried); reappointed Lonann Sweat as vice-chair (motion by Commissioner Corey Tyre, seconded by Commissioner Sammy Boatright, motion carried); reappointed Mary Lee Sweat as county clerk (motion by Commissioner Lee Hagans, seconded by Commissioner Corey Tyre, motion carried); and reappointed Tasha Hill as assistant county clerk (motion by Commissioner Lonann Sweat, seconded by Commissioner Sammy Boatright, motion carried).
The board approved a one-year extended-warranty/maintenance contract with Stryker covering five power stretchers, two loaders and one Lifepack for $13,130.09 (motion by Commissioner Sammy Boatright, seconded by Commissioner Corey Tyre, motion carried).
Pam Deen resigned from the library board (term expires Dec. 31, 2027). For a vacant hospital-authority seat left by the late Gary Graham, the board submitted five names to the Hospital Authority: Lee Taylor, Peggy Murphy, Robbie Johnson, Donnie Baxley and Mike Lee; the minutes record the submission as approved. Jerry Boatright indicated he is willing to serve for an expired term on the hospital board.
The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn by Commissioner Lee Hagans, seconded by Commissioner Sammy Boatright; minutes were signed by County Clerk Mary Lee Sweat.
