Board approves signature for Downtown Hammond Train Station state design-release application

A staff member told the board that the low, responsive and responsible bidder for the design work is Larson Danielson and asked the board to allow the board president to sign the state application required for the Homeland Security-related design release. “This is the Downtown Hammond Train Station. We’ve awarded the bid to the low responsive and responsible bidder Larson Danielson. This is the state design release application. I’m asking for the board to approve the board president to sign that,” the staff member said.
Board member (speaker 3) recommended approval and the Chair concurred. The decision at the meeting was limited to granting signature authority on the design-release application; the transcript records no construction contract award or financing decision beyond identifying the low bidder and seeking the signature for the state form.
The city will return with documents as required by the state process before any construction or contract execution proceeds.
