Council introduces smoke-ordinance amendment on first reading; public hearing set Nov. 20

Councilmember Patricia Walsh introduced Ordinance 2023-15-SS on Oct. 16 and requested the clerk read the title. The clerk read the ordinance title amending the Borough of Fanwood code to change smoke regulations (title read into the record).
Walsh moved that the ordinance be adopted on first reading; the motion was seconded and adopted on a voice vote. The clerk will advertise the ordinance as required by law and the council will hold a second reading and public hearing on Nov. 20 at Borough Hall.
No public testimony on the ordinance was taken at this meeting; the hearing on Nov. 20 will provide an opportunity for public comment and final council action.
