The Lodi City Council convened a special meeting on March 26, 2026, at 6:03 p.m. to consider the recruitment of an interim city attorney, Mayor Eupis said. The council moved into closed session shortly after the roll call to discuss a public employee appointment under Government Code §54957(b).
City Attorney introduced the closed-session item, saying, “Council will convene in closed session regarding Item B‑1, public employee appointment pursuant to Government Code §54957(b) for the interim city attorney recruitment.” The city clerk reported there were no comment cards and no members of the public present to speak on the closed-session item.
The council adjourned to closed session at 6:04 p.m. and returned to the public meeting at 7:44 p.m. When asked to report out, the City Attorney said the council had convened regarding the interim city attorney recruitment and that there was no reportable action at this time. The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
Roll call earlier in the meeting listed Council Members Breckman and Nakanishi and referenced Council Member Greg Hensley as present; Mayor Pro Tem Hothi and Mayor Eupis were also noted present by the clerk. No votes, motions, appointments, or other formal actions were announced in the public portion of the meeting.
