Forest Park honors volunteers and hears recreation-board plans for events and volunteer drives

Binscalvi said the rec board coordinates a minimum of two volunteer activities a year and listed upcoming events including Arbor Day, a dog-library opening May 10, a spring cleanup May 17 (the board’s fifth), a garden walk July 12, a fall cleanup September 13 and a pumpkin smash on Nov. 8. She noted the board works to keep costs low and solicits sponsors to defray expenses and announced that seats on the rec board are open to volunteers.
Binscalvi said the rec board partners with the Department of Public Works on maintenance and that the board serves as a conduit for resident concerns about village green spaces.
