Rawlins County authorizes bridge grant agreement and truck repairs

Rawlins County commissioners on Feb. 17 approved a Kansas Local Bridge Improvement Program agreement, authorized repairs to county equipment and carried routine administrative business during a regular session.
Commissioner Mark Mosley moved to approve Project No. 77‑C‑5388‑01 for the Kansas Local Bridge Improvement Program; Commissioner Lincoln Pochop seconded and the motion carried, authorizing county execution of the agreement.
Wayne Lanning, Road & Bridge, told commissioners the sign project is scheduled to begin March 16 and that about a half‑mile remains to be graveled on County 465. He reported repair estimates for two Peterbilt trucks: Redneck Repair estimated new heads and injectors for the green Peterbilt at about $18,000, while a full rebuild would be about $30,000. Commissioner Pochop moved to repair the green Peterbilt at Redneck Repair; the motion was seconded and carried.
The board also approved minutes from Feb. 2, signed abatements as presented by the appraiser and authorized the KDHE financial assurance letter for the landfill as recommended.
The meeting record shows these motions passed unanimously as recorded. Commissioners adjourned at 12:33 p.m.
