The Village of Broadview board recorded and approved several routine items in a single meeting, with unanimous votes from present trustees and two absences noted.
Minutes: The board voted 4–0 to approve the May 19, 2025 minutes after a clerical correction (Trustee Miller to be marked absent) was acknowledged and entered.
Zoning Board reappointment: The board reappointed Doreen Gordon to the zoning board of appeals with a term expiring in 2030. Mayor Katrina Thompson praised Gordon’s prior service dating to approximately 2017–2018 and noted Gordon’s involvement in local projects; Gordon thanked trustees and complimented staff. The clerk recorded the roll call vote as 4–0 in favor.
Budget officer appointment: The board appointed Wonderful Watson, MBA, CPA, as budget officer to fill a vacancy. The mayor explained the appointment was made because timing and checks-and-balances concerns made an internal appointment impractical and Watson had prior Broadview municipal experience. The mayor said, "Our finance director cannot be the budget officer, the treasurer, and the finance director because we have to have those checks and balances." The motion to appoint Watson carried 4–0.
Other procedural votes: The board approved the warrant list and disbursement of funds (see separate article) and adjourned at 7:05 p.m.
