Hanks Foundation withdraws amphitheater letter of intent; council expresses disappointment

Alderson Preston Martin thanked the foundation and the professionals who explored the project and said he regretted the lost potential for tax revenue, lease money and arts programming. Other council members echoed disappointment but noted legitimate unresolved concerns such as sound mitigation and infrastructure obligations that the city could not commit to without more detail.
